I have been a visual and straight poet since 2001. I write poems and at times integrate them into my ceramic works and vice-versa. I am involved with collective effort press and Unusual Work magazine. I have been a Contributing Editor and Regional Correspondent for Asian Art News and World Sculpture News since 2007.

Critical Writing

Extract from Review of Lessons On Etiquette And Manners by Richard Bell

“Bell is regarded as a bit of an ‘enfant terrible’ in the Australian art scene. He says, ‘I’m a black from hell’, and ‘I’m an activist masquerading as an artist’. He provides an important viewpoint and maintains a much needed challenge to the status quo.”

Extract from Constraint and Freedom Essay

"Most artists would happily repeat their favourite symbols forever.Community input can benefit artist’s work by forcing them to break away from their standard formulaic approaches. It can shake artists from their comfort zones, and expand their art."
